Day of Surgery Expectations
What should I expect when I arrive at the Center?
On the day of your procedure, you should arrive at the scheduled appointment time to allow for admitting and preprocedure preparation. You will first complete the admissions process through the admission area. This involves a lot of paperwork and reading.
Please have your insurance cards and Drivers license available. Your financial arrangements and Co-pays will be taken care of during this process. Next you will be seen in our pre-operative department. A thorough screening will be done at that time and your medical history will be reviewed.
You may or may not require minimal pre-operative testing(ie. EKG or lab work) depending on your medical needs. All patients are required to change their clothing and put on hospital attire. All patients will have an IV or an INT in place prior to surgery.
If your surgery requires anesthesia, you will be seen by an anesthesiologist during this pre-op process. Finally after all preparations are complete, you may have a friend or family member visit with you if so desired. Our Pre-op department looks forward to taking care of you during your stay at Jacksonville Surgery Center Thank you.
